ok, so i just ordered a 4890, payed 25 quid more for the asus one, as its supposed to have a 950mhz core, but mine turns up and its only 850..

wth?

you didn't read the description....

With ASUS’s unique Voltage Tweak technology and the SmartDoctor application, the ASUS EAH4890/HTDI/1GD5 raises GPU voltages from 1.312V to 1.4V. This allows the GPU and memory clock performance to be boosted from 850MHz to 950MHz and 3900MHz to 4600MHz respectively
