At the moment I have an Asus VX279Q and the smaller 22" version for emails to the side, Both are AH-IPS, 5ms GTG and generally both very nice screens for gaming, Watching videos etc...

But I want more pixels, Which screen and why ?

The 1440P from Asus or the 4K screen from Asus ? I really can't decide :p

I have the same dilemma,on the same monitors, but only for one game Elite Dangerous. Choice between high refresh rate or more eye candy. Just can't make my mind up.

I had a 4K and didnt think anything would sway me, i ordered a rog swift to see what the fuss was about expecting to send it back... i didnt, awesome monitor, much better for gaming than the current 4k screens

The only thing stopping me from buying the SWIFT is the ROG branding and styling, Really not keen on it, But then again ACER are bringing a 4K screen out with G-Sync and 1Ms so I might look into that as there's no garish branding going on with that.

I would strongly advise you to get some eyes on time with both - in a shop you would normally be able to see monitors working, so you shouldnt get stung for a restocking fee for firing up a monitor to check it over, just the return postage

You can turn off the light in the base, and other than that there isnt any garish branding

My Samsung (same panel as the Acer) was also allegedly 1ms, but the motion blur was as bad as my 6ms IPS at 60hz, gsync wont help with that

The thing is I might not be sticking with Nvidia down the road so G-Sync wouldn't really be a good investment for me.

you mentioned the Acer, i was actually saying the Acer having gsync wouldnt be the key factor :D
The rog will still be a 144hz 1440 monitor with Amd should you choose to swap (and assuming they fix the problem they are having with high refresh / high res screens)

Based on side by side testing, 1440p 144hz is a nicer experience than current 4K monitors for gaming, gsync is just the icing on the cake
