I bought a USB 3.0 Wifi Adaptor recently, a Netgear A6210, plugged it into one of the USB 3 slots on my new-ish Asus motherboard and was greeted with a 'this device could perform faster' notification. Strange, I thought. So updated all drivers, yadda yadda, and still the same problem. Plugged in a USB 3 memory stick, no problems whatsoever and it worked full speed.
So I contacted Asus customer support about the problem and they say:
"I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your Netgear A6210 USB 3 Wifi adaptor however the USB 3.0 ports are for data storage devices only and as such we cannot recommend using them for Wi-Fi dongles."
Which kind of borders on false advertising as surely it's not full USB 3 implementation.
Anyway, just thought i'd share that in case anyone else was considering this motherboard for its USB 3 capabilities...
