What's the best way to cool the northbridge on this mobo without taking the heatsink off the MOSFETs? I heard someone say they used ceramique to stick the Zalman cooler on top of the heatpipe.

When i use to have this board i stuck a zalman on top of the original asus heatpipe and it lowered temps by 10deg. I didnt use ceramique - instead i used zip ties under the little push pins.

I used some spare graphics card ram heatsinks stuck on top & these dropped the temp a little from 75c under load to 68c - now using temp probes with a digidoc (heatsinks can be seen on my website pics).
Cant beat a fan though, doh...
My heating prob is the graphics cards get so hot they heat everything else up, especially now I'm running fanless.

Unfortunately, watercooloing is the best way to go here. It may not interest you but here goes...........

Pull the lot off and fit a waterblock to the chipset:

Alphacool NexXxoS SLI Compatible Northbridge Block (WC-004-AC) at:

and this.....

Alphacool Asus A8N Series & A8V-E Motherboard Mosfet Cooler (WC-011-AC)

to the mosfets. Fitted a mates out with this kit into an Asetel waterchill loop recently and it works a treat.

Best Regards
