I'm really new to overclocking and I have to say I'm really nervous about taking it on. I'm a little worried about damaging my system. That said it's something I at least want to be able to do. I'd like to know which settings I really need to concertrate on and which setting should be left alone. Sorry if I sound like a total noob, but I suppose I am one lol

Cheers in advance.

Just a side note, one of things I hear most from people is the "I dont want to damage anything" statement. I have been overclocking for many many years (just over 10 now I think) and have never damaged a component from overclocking. There was a large thread on here detailing just how many CPU's had died from overclocking, Im sure the total tally was 0. The point with overclocking is that you cannot physically damage a component unless you run too much voltage through it. If its running at a level its incapable of, it will freeze or lock up and then simply take the overclock down a notch, it wont actually fry or blow up :p The trick is to read as much as possible, learn how it all works, watch your temps and voltages, and most importantly... have fun!

This is my experiance anyway, if I am completely wrong others will say so but I dont feel that I am. I just wanted to post to put you at some sort of ease about venturing into overclocking. As long as your careful and read everything you can youll be sweet. Good luck and have fun
