My motherboard tops out at 1.4v vcore, is there a bios that will allow me more voltage without having to make any major changes? Or are there any minor soldering jobs i can do to get the most out of my chip?

Thanks

No it won't damage it all it does is add another .05V so 1.45V is the max the board supports I'm afraid.

There is a simple v-mod guide on VR-zone for this mobo. Apparantly it's really easy but I don't have the knowledge nor the equipments to do it. If you do it though please let me know how it goes :p

What BIOS are u using?? I'm very interested to know what the newest 0503 BIOS can do in OC.

Thanks for that. Glad i doesn't damage the mobo - got it running prime stable at 2.8!!! I'm on the original bios for the motherboard i can't seen to get hold of any others. Not for lack of trying. Have you used any bios updates, did they help with clocking?

My mobo came with the 0301 version but I didn't try OC on it untill flash it to 0402. I'm hesitate to go for 0503 because I heard it's a really bad OCer.

Don't think there is an 0503, I'm using 0502 & I'm pretty sure the next one is the 0602. Check this thread in the mobo forums for more info http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17535467&highlight=a8r32 I'm think people are getting decent overclocks with the 0502 bios, can't comment myself though, as I've not tweaked mine yet.

I was suprised that this board with it''s many overclocking options doesn't let you have a vcore higher than 1.4V (unless you use the overvolt thingy).

I believe it's the A8R32-MVP you are talking about, which is based on the ATi Xpress 3200 chipset. The A8R-MVP that I'm using is based on Xpress 1600 and doesn't offer as many vcore and other OC options as the A8R32-MVP.

Thanks for the link though just had a quick browse and it does have a fair bit of A8R-MVP discussions, will look through the 50 pages thread when I have time later.

And just to correct what I said previously, I had a 0309 bios when it came and I flashed it to the 0402. The newest bios revision is 0503 for A8R-MVP and 0602 for A8R32-MVP.
