asus a8v probs

hi all im looking at an asus a8v it has

512mb
80gb hd
nvidia fx5500
two dvd drives
q-tech psu

prob is it will run for a little while then it will very drasticaly shut off no warning just shuts down makes a little noise via psu.
i am thinking psu as if you open dvd draws it makes a funny buzzing noise.
only way to get it to work after its turned off is to switch it off at wall then on at that point pc automaticaly starts.

any ideas?.

I would say PSU also. Q-tec got a bad repuation.

thats my thought to m8 i do get 1 beep then 2 beeps at boot up but system runs ok then bang just like someone turnes of power makes a nasty noise to.

like i said only way to get it running again is to turn it off at wall then on again.

just to add checked voltages and they change mostly 3.3v rail like 2.90-3.49v somtimes????.

does the card take power off the psu?

also the way you're having to "control" the power on the pc hints at a duff psu, invest in some quality!

no it doesent take power from psu for graphic card.
im gonna try diff psu see what happens.

cant see it being graphic card even with that error whats it telling you exactly any ways?.
