Asus A8V - "System Failed VGA test"

I recently replaced the PSU in my PC, only to apparently eff up my motherboard somehow. I get the "System failed VGA test" audio warning through the speakers and no video. It also appears to halt the boot-up.

I've tried going back to the old PSU, cleaning and re-seating the graphics card, checking all the power connectors (the fan on the card is spinning), removing the card completely, and trying a different graphics card. I still get the same error message.

The mobo seems like the most likely candidate, but is there anything I haven't thought of before I start searching for a new one? Cheers.

Asus A8V, GeForce 6600gt, Enermax 535w.

might have been a power surge from the new PSU, have you tried the graphics card on another system, or even tried the onboard (if any)

Managed to find and old PCI card and that works fine, so you're probably right. Is it likely to be the card itself that's fried or could the AGP socket on the motherboard be damaged?
