Asus Ai overclocking?

I've just had a play around with the Asus AI overclocking, i set it to 5%, everything seemed fine, I tried with 10% and it wouldn't boot properly, I paniced but managed to get back into the bios after a few attempts and it disabled it.

Is this normal? should I be worried it didnt seem to want to boot past 10%?

My CPU is an Intel Conroe 6600 (2400)

Just leave it alone and clock manually.You will get better results.

Yeah it's rubbish. Only works on 5% OC but managed to get it to 2.7ghz manually.

Before we start, a word of warning, overclocking voids your warranty and increases the risk of premature death of you're hardware.

If you are careful have adequate cooling etc.. and are sensible overclocking should not be a problem.

To get it past 5% you can try increasing the voltage to your RAM. My one wouldn't go past 2% so I increased the voltage to RAM by one notch and I can get it to 10% now.
