I recently got a motherboard from a friend (an asus m2n sli-deluxe).

I bought a coolermaster hyper tx2 hoping it would come with custom mounting gear to the mobo, but I have now received it and i was wrong!

I basically have the module retention BASE, not attached to the motherboard, and with no screws to attach it to the motherboard. There are 4 holes in the mobo around the socket where the base should sit, but they aren't screw holes as far as I can see (they are huge!).

My question is how can I re-attach the module base to the motherboard? I wanta get a new build up and running and these little problems are just taking the **** :D

any help will be REALLLLLY appreciated!! cheers :)

I think your best bet would be to get a new AM2 retention bracket from the bay. Cost's about £3.50 +P&P. Retailers are missing out on a market here. People are always after these things.

thanks, but I really dont want to have to buy a new one!

The guy who sent me it sent me a fan/heatsink too, which was using the retention base, which I obviously couldnt use because it wasnt attached to the motherboard! Then i bought a new fan hoping for the best but still no luck.

There MUST be a fix, or a type or screw i can use... The only makeshift thing i can think of is putting a small screw in then a nut on the otherside of the mobo to stop it coming out but that will mess things up im sure!

In the image linked there, I have the black square (the base) around the socket... but i dont have the four metal screws to connect it (just to clarify incase of confusion).
