" Asus has just introduced no less than four fresh widescreen monitors to its offer - the 24-inch VK246H and VW246H and the 25.5-inch VK266H and VW266H. Featuring a 2ms (grey-to-grey) response time, the LCDs make use of Asus' proprietary Splendid technology which, via a color engine, will analyze the type of content being displayed and automatically tweak image quality to provide the "best visual results in any usage scenario."

The VK246H and VW246H models, which measure 568 x 422 x 230 mm have a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a Smart Contrast Ratio of 20000:1, a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m2, two 2W speakers, and D-Sub, DVI, plus HDMI connectors. The VK246H also features a 1.3 megapixel camera.

The bigger boys announced, the VK266H and VW266H measure 597 x 462 x 230 mm, weight 7.9 kg each and also have a 20000:1 contrast ratio, 2W stereo speakers, a brightness of 300 cd/m2, but have a top resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. As the VK246H, the VK266H comes equipped with a webcam, but the 'bigger' model has includes a 2.0 megapixel rotative camera.

All four monitors are expected to be released before the end of this month."

IMO 2ms is good for a 24+" LCD and I have used the 19" WS for customers and they are good.

2ms is average, because response time depends on the panel type, and these are (therefore) all Twisted-nematic monitors, which are great for games and less good for everything else...

i'm still not sold on this "Full-HD" malarkey. its an awesome demonstration of how marketing spiel can make someone think that a 1920x1080 monitor is better than a 1920x1200 monitor.

i have a "better-than-Full-HD" monitor, aka, 1920x1200, and i'd find it very annoying with less verticle resolution.

I noticed these recently while i was looking at january released/stocked products. Prices look promising around £200 for the 24" and £300 for the 26". Hoping they will turn out to be good :). OC said they would be stocking these when i messaged them but they couldn't say when so im hoping january along with the other online retailers restock expected dates.

Hmm, think I may also put off buying one. I was also looking at going with the 22" Asus True HD one, but if the 24" is around £200 that would be pretty tempting!
