Hi there

Guys Asus really pulling out the stops now with their range of super-cooled DirectCU II graphics cards:-

Asus GeForce GTX 580 DirectCU II 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card @ £449.99 inc VAT

ASUS is proud to introduce the new ASUS ENGTX580 DCII to all our users. Using the unique ASUS DirectCU II Cooler the airflow is doubled and the noise level is greatly reduced by using flattened copper heat pipes which directly contact the GPU core to speed up heat dissipation for a 20%* cooler performance compared to reference. Keeping the card temperatures low also results in quieter operations thanks to reduced fan speeds!

The card also boasts Super Alloy Power which can create a 15% performance increase, 2.5 longer product life span and a 35?C cooler operation. In addition to this, the engine clock runs at a Pre Overclocked 782MHz (reference 772MHz), allowing users to enjoy high speed and an unprecedented gaming experience. Super Alloy Power is a special blend of elements formed using an ASUS exclusive formula, under extreme pressure and temperatures. The metals are highly-magnetic, heat-resistant and anti-corrosive used to reduce power loss, enhance durability and achieve cooler operation.

Super Hybrid Engine is an intelligent power consumption optimizer that switches between high- and low-intensity power profiles in real-time. This in turn can provide up to 15% improved performance. Furthermore the GTX580 offers a SAP CAP; this is back-to-back with the GPU to provide most efficient power supply for increased stable overclocking of up to 28%.

With exclusive Voltage Tweak technology also being a key feature of this product, the ENGTX580 DCII/2DIS/1536MD5 covers users for every possible over-clocking and over-volting scenario. With the complete package offered by this card users can easily boost their performance by up to 50%!

Just in time for free delivery status. My wallet curses you :)

For anyone curious, the bios switch on the Asus 6970 DirectCU simply activates the second DVI connector in dual-link mode (good for those of us with both a crt and 120hz lcd). There is no dual-bios option, although it's not really necessary on this card.

If only these were posted before 5pm i would have bought the 6970 straight away for Saturday delivery :p

Might have to take a trip to the store tomorrow morning now ;)

edit: forget that, just noticed the card is an inch too long for my case :( guess i'm back to the reference cards....

Or anyone here that could afford 3? Probably yes to both those questions, but you'd have to ask yourself what your compensating for ;)
No girlfriend or social life.

The cards look ugly as hell. I rarely have my PC open, but I still like to know it looks nice inside. Screw the loud fans / poor cooling - my XFX is a thing of beauty.

Still haven't found a mini-ITX mobo with 3 well-spaced PCI-E x16 slots. The search continues...

NB. If they run below absolute zero, maybe they'll have a negative volume? That could work.
