These are one of those products which are difficult to sell as understanding the quality of the product via a website is difficult.
However I can confirm that at OcUK, myself, Slackworth and rjkoneill were impressed with this headset. The rumble feedback is very good, prior to testing I was unsure about "vibrating" headsets. However after testing a set when Asus last came to visit us we tried these and the rumble feedback is very low in intensity, but just enough so you knew that the technology was there and working.
The feedback is great, and makes for a much greater immersive feel to the audio both during games and video playback. These do come highly recommended.

The vibration on that video seems off-putting. This is what I expected prior to testing these, horrible vibrating headset, that is really not the case it's subtle but good.

Interesting idea. Do they have any plans to make one with stereo headset plugs to be used with sound cards or does it have to be USB powered for the vibration?

It's all well and good having this rumble feature, but as they are headphones, how good is the microphone on them and what's the sound quality like?

sound quality is good on these
not as good as the dedi soundcard and high end headset i am used to, but as an all in one solution they tick all the boxes.

i played a demo of NFS Shift and the clarity of sound was superb.
i had a pair of G35 from logitech before my senn pc350s and the asus is definatly on par with the logitechs but with the added rumble feature which i didnt find to intrusive but more immersive

:)

USB?
Werent these rumoured to be bundled with a new Xonar?

You must be thinking of the Sennheiser headset that comes with Xonar Xense (Not available in the UK yet, but keep your eyes open because it sounds AWESOME for FPS games)

As I mentioned in another post, I've been using this headset for the last few days and as rjkoneill says, it's not a replacement for a high-end headset and soundcard but it's nowhere near the price, either.

It's hard to say how good something sounds without letting people hear it - Stay tuned as I have an idea :)

As I said, I have an idea...so let's put that into action.

Do we have a volunteer from the audience, who would like to test the headset and let us know their thoughts?

If anyone is interested, please drop a reply here :)

I'd be willing to give it a go but theres guys on here that have a silly amount of experience with headphones/audio tho they may make better testers.
My feedback would be a comparison with a pair of Goldring NS1000's (which due to recent price have become quite popular) and then feedback from using the mic with both TS2 and Vent.

Previous headset was a stereo pair of medusas and previous to that a 5.1 offering from same company, least be said wont be buying anything by them again ;)
Currently using O/B sound with my NS100s so I have a feeling that USB maybe of decent competition to that.

That probably is what Im thinking of :)

im no audiophile, just your standard joe-public guy.
used medusas, fatal1ty, and currently using the logitech G35.

it would be an honour to try them out please.

The assumption is that you simply get a rumble to accompany low frequncies. But do they somehow convey something more?

I mean it's easy to imagine rumbling headphones, but if they messed with your senses in a way which added something to gaming which is more than just rumbling, then they could be worthwhile.

I'm thinking racing sims actually.

Oh, and I'd be willing to try them. I'm a casual gamer, and live sound engineer by profession.
