Asus Crosshair III Formula AM3 •
hi guys got this board today with a 3.2ghz quad amd3 ...
installed xp pro and eveything is working ok but i cant get the auido drivers working ???
anyone got any ideas i have installed everything on the CD that came with the board and when i try installing drivers from asus website i get errors.
 
There should be some audio drivers on the disc that came with the board. Named Supreme FX-X-FI or something similar to that. Make sure that's installed. :)
 
Ok i had the device in the bottom PCI slot so i moved it to the top one and the drivers have now installed and i have sound ...
But in Device manager i still have Unknows Device
Audio Device on high definition audio bus ?

any one got any ideas ? what this is ?
 
found it ... it was the GFX card it has HDMI audio out so that was the problem thanks .
 
Ok my Board (Asus Crosshair III Formula) comes with built in overclocking Programs and one says up it from 3.2 to 3.4 then 3.6. then 3.8!!!

Do you think using these programs can mess it up ... unless you do it correctly from the BIOS ?
 
I guess you're talking about the CPU Level Up function? It's designed as an "easy overclocking" function.

If you can overclock manually, I'd advise that over using the tool.
 
Hi All, I got my Crosshair3 today with Win7 64bit and im having problems installing drivers, everything but AMD Overdrive gives me an error "does not support this model"???

Best not to use the driver cd as default but always download the latest drivers from the manufacturers web site, in this case Asus for your Crosshair III.
Pick mobo/pick OS/dl audio+utility drivers.
They have released an updated version (R19) for the Soundmax codec and for use with Creative's Supremefx addon card. They even 'hinted' the correct install procedure. Who says Asus doesn't provide support?? :D

Have you updated the bios? BIOS 1403 should iron out the incompatibility issue with amd overdrive.
