Asus Dark knight problems

Hi,

i was hoping someone might be able to help me.

I recently done a completely new clean install of windows on my computer as i was having major problems with everything, i also purchased a new 22" monitor and an Asus HD4870 Dark Knight 1gb from overclockers. i only have the bare essentials on my computer now, like antivirus and windows and any games i play. i was playing world of warcraft and the graphics started to go funny, then the screen just went completely, with just colours all over the screen and no graphics.

i thought of some possible reasons so checked them out, i thought it could be the graphics card overheating but it's running at 47 degrees under load, i uninstalled then re-installed all the latest drivers but still the graphics are going, could it be a faulty card?,

my specs are

4 gig 1066 ram
HD4870 1gb
550w psu

thanks for any help

what is an RMA? sorry to sound like a complete novice, but i never heard that before
you will have to call ASUS or look on their website you will have to give them the serial number of the card to prove it has warranty left, they will then send you a replacement.
if youve had the card less than 12 months contact the company you purchased card from and you may be able to rma it with them which will also be a lot quicker.

i bought it from overclockers at the beginning of the month, so i think i'll give them a call tomorrow, thanks for the replies and help

i installed it out of the box, so i haven't done anything to the card (i'm not that clever anyway), been to the asus website, and it says to speak to the reseller, so i'll ring OcUk tomorrow.

I think the fact that it seems to be only 3D elements that are effected, like the 2D images that make up the 'HUD' for WoW look perfectly in tact.

There's something up with the core, I think if it was a memory issue you wouldn't see torn models.

Saying that though, did you install your new card along with installing a fresh installation of windows?

Have you ever had this card in fully working order?
