ASUS dsl-n55u Internet not working suddenly?

After a short break I've returned home to find my connection down. :( I've quite a simple setup with an ASUS dsl-n55u and an account with Co-op broadband.

The issue is that the internet connection will not work now for some reason? I've reentered my provider details, it says please waiting processing, then I get a completed network configuration summery, but then it takes me back to the home section and says Disconnected status still??

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I've been on to supplier and run through all the details and they're correct. The adsl light comes on fine too so the line connection should be good shouldn't it?

One slight oddity I've noticed is that I can't get onto the router page on my pc connected via Ethernet? So I'm having to connect wirelessly on a Mac. Very odd, but I don't immediately see how it might be connected?

Really appreciative of any help with this.

Quite likely it's faulty. Those models are coming up to 9 years old now, it's probably worth replacing at this point.

@andy_mk3 Thanks for the reply. I'm coming round to that idea too. I've done a factory reset and because I can't connect to it via Ethernet, I can't logon to it now!

Would you have any suggestions for a decent replacement?

Honestly if you're not using any special features it may well be worth asking your ISP for a replacement router. If not then pretty much anything would be an upgrade from what you have, just depends on your budget.
