Bought an Asus EAH-4890 from Overclockers on Christmas Eve as a gift for my Son and when we installed it we got power up and the fans on the card spinning at full speed but no display.

I have done a complete reformat of the HDD with no previous diplay drivers and still get the same problem.

I re-install the Nvidia 6200 Turbocahe and everything works perfectly.

PSU is a Tagan 580w modular which ran a 9800gx2 for over a year without any problems

Motherboard is a Gigabyte 965P-DS3 running XP Pro 32

Any help is gratefully recieved as he has a load of games (Xmas presents) he can't play and he's got board of his Christmas jumper now!

PS, Merry Christmas to all Forum Members

Thank you

I'm not 100% sure but it seems like the motherboard might be the problem as it seems pretty old. Have you tested the card in any other computers?

Have you tried both DVI connectors?

You and Temi D are both from Manchester, maybe you could try it out in his rig? I wouldn't have a problem letting you try it in my rig but I'm the wrong end of the country.

Have tried both DVI's, i'm very south of Manchester (not sure where Teni D is),
not to far from OCUK. Thinking i may just return it for an Nvidia card (assuming a GTX 260/275 will work).

I returned the card to OCUK today who tested it there and then for me and said the card was faulty. They replaced the card and all has gone well and i am very pleased with the performance, it runs really quiet and i'm getting performance not unsimular from my 9800GX2. I think the original card was a return as all the protective rubber covers were missing from the PCI-E terminal and DVI plug and the packaging had been tampered with (i realised this when i opened the new one which was totally sealed with protective rubber caps). Anyway, alls well that ends well and thanks to the guys that replied with suggestions.

Glad you got it sorted, they really are the best performer at their price point at the moment.

Not impressed that OcUK appear to be passing off 2nd hand stock as new.
