this card (clicky) was supposed to be released with the 5850 DirectCu. i've looked around most of the UK computer hardware sites and i cannot find one. there arent even any reviews for it anywhere. its almost like it doesnt exist outside of the Asus website. IMO they lool damn sexy when compared to the reference cards and i would rather have one of them in my upcoming build than a reference. they are supposed to be cooler and since they are Asus they come with voltage tweak :D

so do any of you guys know anything about this card? if so please let me know.
 
Well there's a review for the 5850 version which gives it high praise. Runs quieter and cooler, and overclocks better than it's stock cooler brother.

Logical to presume the 5870 version will be the same.
 
so these should overclock better and have better temps even though they are not reference? i bet they are going to be 350+ :/ even though asus says no premium charge on top

apparently cant use afterburner with it, and can only use asus smart doctor to change voltage

thanks for the info guys. IIRC asus are going to phase out their reference cards and replace them with this one. im sure you will be able to flash the bios and use afterburner if you really wanted. the main reason for me wanting this is because it should be cooler but i will probably end up going for another card. im not getting my system for a few months so i'll keep my eye on this one. maybe an ati refresh will happen in that time, who knows.
