I have been looking at netbooks and swining between 3 really:

MSI Wind
Samsung NC10
Asus EEEPC 1000HE

Now I like them all and will be going down the purple shirt shop today to have a try out and see if i like them etc. But I was looking around and saw this netbook:

ASUS Eee PC 1008HA

Doesn't seem to be released yet but it basically is the same as the Asus 1000HE but much thinner and better looking. So just wondering if anyone had one? I am slighlty worried though that it seems you can't replace the battery, and I am not sure about adding more RAM or a new HDD??

make sure you check what type of hdds are in the units mate if your thinking about upgrading them. We get a lot of them at the place i work and most have solid state drives in, which are expensive. You may need to be carefull on opneing the unit up aswell, as to change the hdd on them involves taking the keyboard surround off, which could void any warranty.

The 10005H is coming out in July which is said to be very similar in design to the 1008, the main difference being that it'll be a bit cheaper and have a removable battery. May be worth waiting for that if the battery design is a concern.

Well i had a think about it and was stuck between buying the 1000HE and the NC20 but seeing as the Asus is £70 cheaper, has better warranty and battery life I bit the bullet and ordered the Asus :) I am going on holiday in July and wanted to have a netbook for then and for what i use it for the asus should be fine. So just gotta try and wait patiently for the Asus to arrive next friday!!!

Thanks for all your comments though, would have been nice to get this but it was too much money for something without a replaceable battery.

Indeed, I'm struggling to make a decision myself. I have an Acer Aspire One at the moment but I want to sell it and my M1330 notebook and just get a better netbook. Lots of choices out there but it doesn't seem like there's one that ticks all the boxes for what I want, it's quite annoying!

I do like the look of the 1000HE though, be sure to post your thoughts on it once you've had time to use it a bit, and some pics too! :)
