Well I bought a 250GB SSD and cloned the 250GB HDD with Win 7 starter. The SSD ran OK but seemed to have an issue with Windows update.
So I downloaded the Win 10 media creation tool and used it to install the Win 10 "upgrade and keep data and Apps" (previously known as Programs!) on the cloned SSD.
The first issue was that on startup I received a message "ASUS ACPI driver missing". Searching the web I needed to delete the hotkeys programme. OK - did this but this means that the "fn" keys don't work.
With this Win 10 loaded and ran. I also noticed the Bluetooth connection is missing.
Needed a couple of reboots before it seemed to be happy (came up with several esoteric error messages).
SO now running with all previous programs (e.g. Office, EOS camera downloads, etc.). Except:
- no internal Bluetooth
- no fn keys
neither is insurmountable.
Anybody else upgraded an Asus Eee (c. 2009) and found same issues?
Tried latest downloads from AsusTech but they say "incompatible".
