Hi all, last night i fit the cooler onto my asus evo P7P55D motherboard, the cooler is so large that no matter which way it sits it does not give me enough room to place my nvidia 295 into pci e slot 1. On this board there are 3 pci e slots, so im just wondering before i finish putting this together, does it matter which slot the card goes into. Will it be ok sitting in slot 2 or 3. Im a little lost on this, so here the information on my board and bundle.

1 X Intel Core i7 860 2.80Ghz @ 3.80GHz - Retail
1 X Asus P7P55D Evo Intel P55 Motherboard
1 X Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel
1 X Zalman CNPS10X-Quiet CPU Cooler

This is my board from ocuk http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-361-AS

Heres a picture of my problem http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=gxMVRKi Theres no way what so ever i can get my card in pci e slot 1?.

Another thing, the cooler has to face that way or it completely covers that pci e slot 1, but with it the way i have it, its covering parts on the memory slots!!!! is this just a badly thought out board?

Theres also another thing with this cooler called Fan mate 2, i don't have a clue where to fit the wires for this thing, im new to that and can't seem you understand it, but there must be someone with the exact same bundle that can tell me where to plug them into. heres a pic. Forget the fan mate 2 ive worked that out :)

Hope you guys can help so i can carry on with my build, thanks peeps :)

Hello again :)

Looking at the pictures your gpu should just fit in but will be tight with the fan, this is assuming you don't have a load of plastic bits on the card stopping this. Any other slots used will reduce the performance.

On the fan mate 2*, one end plugs into the 4 pin cpu motherboard header and the other end (socket end) plugs into the cpu fan, you then need to place the fan controller at the of the case through a pci slot or gap in the case if possible.

*When you boot up you will need to adjust the fan header control - "CPU Q-Fan control" will need to be disabled.

Hi RJC mate, i thought id post again with pics , thought it would help. you think my 295 will fit into that slot! i have not tried yet, was just looking and thinking no chance. But now youve said it will fit ill give it a go too :) Is the cooler the right way now then haha. So on first boot up a will need to go into bios and find CPU Q FAN control and disable it if i use fan mate 2. Is that all i need to do mate?

Posting with pics helps a great deal :D.

On the Fan mate 2 that's all needs to be done, this will make the header produce constant 12v, otherwise the 2 speed controllers will fight :p

thank you so much RJC youve been a great help, ill put the board in now and hopefully everything should fit fine into my antec 1200. ill post back later with pics , thanks again mate :)
