Ordered 1 of these on friday from OC arrived today, really nice looking machine left it on charge for an hour prior to doing anything with it at all.

pressed power button keyboard lit up screen stayed black Mmmmmmm i thought finally after a few more presses and still no screen i phoned OC the guy i spoke too looked for a solution on the internet (hold power button for 45 seconds) tried this still nothing after a few more tries he issued me an RMA.

not wishing to give up so easily i help the power button for longer maybe 90 seconds this time the machine loaded and i was able to proceed past the initial setup stages.

maybe 30 minutes later the laptop is running the microsoft update process and asked for a restart, pressed restart and its now back to square 1 where it will not boot no bios screen no republic of gamers logo just a red keyboard and thats it, the laptop seems to turn off if left in this state for say 10-20 seconds.

during the red keyboard/black screen scenario there is no activity flashing from the hard drive light at the front of the machine.

i feel for the price £1495 this should not be happening and i guess i will have to Rma the laptop back to OC.

before i do this has anyone any other ideas of anything i could try?

thanks

No ... Return this ASAP ..... why on earth would you even want to keep something that out of the box is not working as it was designed to ? just get a replacement sent to you and hopefully you will be up and running in no time :)

In the past I have had the cost of return postage for a faulty item refunded, post a question on the customer service section of the forum and ask about it.

The first one I received had to be returned .... the GPU fan had a really bad clicking sound on it but apart from that ( and the replacement was perfect ) I am over the moon with this laptop very quiet ( almost silent ) not as heavy as I was expecting and the finish is amazing.

It is very quick with everything I use on it so apart from the issue out of the box with my first one I'm still giving it 10/10.
