I've just been looking at the ASUS UX305 laptop on the US site, it looks amazing with the Core M 5y71 processor and QHD+ screen, I then look for it in the UK and they pam us off with the low end crap version with the 5y10 processor and a 1080p screen, I mean WTF?

Pft

So now I'm left with the HP Specre X360, and Dell XPS 13 options, but the price of the ASUS was the main factor in looking at it, along with the look, the weight, the size, the whole package actually, now I will feel like I will be compromising and not getting what I really want.

The new MacBook is ok but again its a compromise as it has only 1 USB-C port so you would need a USB hub and other crap with you to use it properly, and no SD card slot? I give in, everything is a compromise because we pay extra in the UK and some companies pam us off with what they cant sell

I should stop now,

To be honest with the way Windows scales HiDPI at the moment I think 1080p on 13" is probably a safe bet.

But not for future-proofing. I have not come across any DPI scaling issues myself, because I avoid badly written software that scales poorly.

OP you are not wrong, there is no perfect product and everything seems to require some compromise somewhere. Try and have a good think about what means the most to you and what you couldnt live without.

Thanks Bunny, you are indeed correct, I am looking at future proofing, and with Windows 10 coming soon, I would like to think that certain issues will be rectified.

Its what I want so I must have at least QHD, I can not be moved on this, and the need for at least 7hrs battery life, SSD, quiet so little to no fan noise, amongst other things
