Asus GTX260 896mb problem

Hi there,

I just bought a asus gtx 260 896mb GPU and have attemtped to install it into my pc. It all fits fine and everything however when I go to turn the pc on, nothing shows on the monitor, not even a flick of light.

It looks like you've used a Molex to PCI-E adaptor for one of the sockets, there should be a cable that plugs straight from your PSU into the PCI-E power socket on your GFX card. It should have come with your PSU.
 
unless it's a very old PSU, in which case u will either need to free up another molex somehow or try a six pin converter just plugged into one molex and see if it is enough power.

If ur using a molex to run fans or HDD this could be split as they require far less power than a gfx card, thereby freeing up a connector for the PCIe adaptor. for example do u actually need the floppy drive?
 
Ok what I did was take a Molex out of one of my cd drives that was not needed and used that for the card. Now it works fine, thanks a lot guys!
