Hey guys.

Prices dopped a bit on the 560's and I was wondering how much bigger if at all is the asus GTX560 compared to say, EVGA or Gigabyte (Normal) ?

If you have a decent PSU can I recommend a GTX 480 over the 560, similar prices but the 480 is significantly faster, see a comparison here.

The 560 is expensive for the performance you get.

Only got a GX550W from Coolermaster, will have to pass on that unfortunately.

From what Ive seen a GTX560 competes with HD6950 and OC'd can reach GTX570 speeds which is nice, I'd call it a lower segment of high range cards, just what im looking after.
From experience I had bad stuff going with AMD such as drivers and not long a go a 5850 blew up on me aswell.

So back to my size question, is the size the same or the Asus cooler just makes it look bigger ?

Suggest to go on Asus, Gigabtye and EVGA sites as it will tell you on there the length of each card if no one answers your question.

Most reviews tend to disagree with those results, the GTX 560 is very barely behind the GTX 570 / 480 in most tests, and got top marks for value in most reviews:

The 560 isnt expensive at all for the performance you get, the current offer on the 480 is just super cheap for that card.

Those results show the 560 in a more favourable light granted, but it still gets beaten more or less everytime by the 480.
Don't forget with the 480 you also get the extra 512MB of ram so potentially better for people who game at higher resolutions, obviously this is dependant on what games they play.

Like you said the price on the 480 is super cheap for the performance it gives, hence why I'd recommend it over the 560 at this precise moment in time :)

Yea the custom cooled GTX 480 is a good buy, I wouldnt touch the reference cooled one though.

As for the GTX 560s, the Asus cooler is pretty crappy:

MSI or Gigabyte are the ones to pick if you want a 560.

Thanks for those pics mate !

Hmm, I would have thought overall Asus would be better cooling wise, as the cooler looks pretty big on that.
Thanks again.
