Hey guys I recently built a new PC for some gaming. I didn't break the bank, but feel I put a pretty good system together. I got the ASUS HD 7790 Direct CU II OC 1 GB Graphics Card, 16gb RAM, Intel i5-3570K.

I'm trying to run FIFA 13 but finding the frame rate dropping quite a lot, now I did some searching online and a lot of people have been having this problem with FIFA but have found changing settings to get the most out their system has worked. My question is, is my rig strong enough to do that and how would I go about it?

Yes i would have thought you would be able to play Fifa fine ( unless you are playing at a silly res over a few monitors)

Thanks for the responses. After altering the screen resolution I'm getting a much more stable frame rate. Out of curiosity with these specs should I be safe playing most games near the high settings?

Looking at benchmarks the 7790 does around 40fps with ultra settings 1080p on most of the newer titles.

You would probably have to drop it down to medium or play at lower resolution to get a constant 60fps.

Also check whether there is the classic microstuttering problem in Fifa13. I have had this in both 7790 and 7970 after 12.11 drivers and solved it with RadeonPro software

Thanks for the reply, I've been out of the PC gaming scene for about a decade and have absolutely no idea what that means but I'll research it and see if that helps.

Fifa13 played fine for about the first 20-30 ingame minutes. After that it produced big fps drops and was awful like the gpu couldn't handle it. Google fifa13 microstutter. The solution is radeonpro

I had this problem. albeit on Fifa 12. I went into the Fifa Setup (Not in game) and ticked the bottom box in this picture

It solved my stuttering problem instantly. I don't know if the same applies to Fifa 2013. I was using a XFX HD6950.

Strangely now the frame rate seems to be great. I installed the utility manager for the GPU, which I'm guessing changed a setting or two. I'm noticing a major bump up from the console version. It's a shame FIFA 14 for PC is going to be based off the current gen version and not the PS4/Xbox One version.
