Hi,
I'm just about to buy (maybe) a second hand ASUS HD 7850 (yeah I'm skint) being sold as faulty as it has no output on screen! I've asked the seller and it boots up fine with all the fans, lights etc..
Here's what he says:
"Yes I did plug in the extra six pin plug from the power supply the graphics card green light came on and fans spun. Also the hard drive spun up, the dvd drives activated and would go in and out. The TV screen just said "NO SIGNAL" . However the mouse and keyboard did not light up . To turn computer off I held the power button in for about 5 seconds. Taking card out and replacing my original graphic card which does not use the extra power cable everything went back to normal and booted up straight away no problems."

Does anyone think I should go ahead and buy it as it's only like £10 +p&p??
Also anyone have any idea what may be the problem?
Thanks,
Dan.
Specs:
MB: Asus M5A78L
CPU: AMD FX-6300
SSD: Samsung Evo 2250gb
Memory: 8GB
Graphics: ATI HD 5750 (sucks but plays most)

Personally I wouldn't bother - may only be £10 but that's £10 you could put towards a working GPU.

In my experience it's unlikely to be fixable (other than broken fans or unstable/artifacts caused by overheating, then very little can be fixed)
