I'm thinking of upgrading to the Asus M2N32-SLi-DLX nForce 590 SLi (Socket AM2) and the AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz (Socket AM2). Is this a good choice to go for i already have the memory it's Corsair 1GB DDR2 XMS2-5400 TwinX (2x512MB) SLI Certified and a Hiper HPU-4B580 Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU - Blue SLI Certified.

In a few weeks time as im not in any rush to finish the system off im thinking of completing by adding two Gainward BLISS GeForce 7600 GT "Golden Sample" 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) for SLi and future proofing.

Any comments, suggestions or problems on the choice before i purchase

2 SLI 7600gt's will not future proof your system, i would suggest that you buy a high end single card from ATI or Nvidia as they will outperform the 2 7600gt's. The rest of your components are fine although i would have 2gb (2x1gb sticks) of ram in my system.

I'm not a big gamer like i used to be thats why i chose the 2x Gainward BLISS GeForce 7600 GT "Golden Sample" 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) on SLI so that it would enable me to play games on demand basically.

I'm just looking to build an all round stable quality machine that will last a few years really and enable me to upgrade in the future.

The 2x512MB is actually in my INTEL system that im using now but i will add another 2x512MB to make it a total of 2GB Dual Channel.

Will i face any problems if i use (4x512MB) Corsair 1GB DDR2 XMS2-5400 TwinX on the Asus M2N32-SLi-DLX nForce 590 SLi (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard.

The higher end ATI, Nvidia cards will still allow you to do this and the price your paying for those 2 cards you would be able to afford one. The single higher end card( X1800XT and upwards, 7800GTX and upwards) will out perform those cards in sli.

I may scrap the idea of using 2x7600GT's and go for a single BFG GeForce 7800 GTX OC 512MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express).

If you use 4 sticks of ram i dont think you can run dual channel, and also it will also force you to run at 2T timmings, but shouldnt cause any problems, its just better to have 2x1GB sticks of RAM.

You can still run dual channel it'll just run at 2T timings and put more strain on the mem controler (i.e. might not clock as far as if you only had 2 sticks).

Not an overclocker to be honest just want a decent setup may just stick to the 2x512MB i already have for the time being and replace them later.

Think i'll get a single BFG GeForce 7800 GTX OC 512MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express).

Do you think the setup i've now chosen will be a good setup.

Ive just bought that mobo, using a sapphire x1800xt 256 MB on it. Hoping to get 2GB corsair ddr2 xms2 XMS2-6400C4 and an amd am2 X2 4000+(whenever it comes in stock from where ive ordered). I chose the RAM by checking the compatability lists available on the www.corsair.com website just incase you want to check if your sticks of RAm will run on that bored because ive heard the board is dead picky about RAM but i think itll be sorted out soon with BIOS upgrades

All ASUS motherboards are compatitable with CORSAIR infact its recommended according to what i've read up on so far so it's a recommended choice and 100% compatitable.

I dont know about that on there website they only certain sticks of RAM shown as compatable with that board, it might say that all corsair RAM is compatable but ive read reviews that say otherwise :D just to be sure check the compatability on the website :D
