ASUS M4A78LT-M MOBO not sticking to hard coded memory timings (?)

Hello,

I'm running 4GB of munchkin memory 1600 Mhz DDR3 in the above mobo ( ASUS M4A78LT-M).

http://www.mushkin.com/Memory/Silverline/996946.aspx

I set the mem speed in the bios to 800 mhz, tcl=9, trcd=9, trp=9,tras=24, (Cr=1T) which are the timings for the memory published by the manufacturer, and when windows boots to XP 32 bit, CPUZ reports 11,11,11,29 timings (?)

Why is the mobo changing my timings?

Is ip possible to get the timings to tcl=9, trcd=9, trp=9,tras=24?

Every other setting is set to AUTO in the bios. VOltage is 1.5v (standard).

Thanks,

OK,

After some more messing around, I've found there is much more memory timing information in the spd tab of cpuz than on the manufacturers webpage (for 800MHz). So, I went back into the bios, and entered the extra settings (most notably, higher voltage settings - 1.6v), and it now works.

FYI: I had to enter all of the settings except voltage, twice in the bios; e.g. tRAS appeared twice. This is where I was also going wrong, as I only expected to see each setting once, so each timing setting had a hard coded value, and a value set to Auto.

I've just finished an extended memtest run, and there are no errors.

P.S.

For those that are wondering, Munchkin is my dogs nickname. That's what happens when you post at 3.32 in the morning :-)
