Asus MARS 2 getting owned by BF3, VRAM anybody?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UoZ27MXt_0

Check out that ownage right there. 2560x1600 ULTRA settings using TWO ASUS MARS2 cars. So thats four GF110s unlocked to GTX 580 speeds.

Would you say its a driver issue not being optimized for quad SLI? Or would you say its the 1.5gb VRAM limit of those MARS2 cards?

Discuss

this could have gone in the vram thread harmony , there are enough things to do with BF3 without adding yet more lol

if thats what bf3 looks like maxxed out then to me its crap and should no way on this earth bring a system like that to under 20 fps

If I paid a grand a piece for a card that only had 1.5GB on it per core when you can get 3GB cards, that would mega pee me off. Daft purchase.

Ok, I watched the video, my opinions:

1) Prebuilt PC for 10 grand with 2 Mars Ultras. Only an idiot would buy that.
2a) CPU most likely at stock speed since its a prebuilt PC. Running SLI / Xfire with a stock speed CPU = Stupid
2b) GPU must likely at stock speed too. Not even overclocking a Mars card = stupid
3) I have no idea how much system ram is in there, but its probably only 4-6 Gb. If so, stupid
4) In fact, we dont even know any of this PCs specification other than '2 Mars Cards'. Could be on an AMD CPU for all I know
5) Hyperthreading was most likely on by default. Stupid for BF3
6) Resolution was at 2560x1600. If you think that we arent already aware that Vram is a limitation at this resolution, and you should at least have a high end 2 Gb card, then you're stupid

PS. The old noobasaur in the video claims that this is the fastest PC in the world. Oh hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, please please please please please give me $10000 so I can actually make an attempt at building the fastest PC in the world. It still wont beat any of the record holding benchers over on XS.

Hate to rain on your parade but that pc is in the top 20 fastest pc's in the world for 3dmark. As for the ram you could not have been further off as it has 48gb ram. The guy speaks parts and stats here.

Had to go have a look to see what a $10k pc had inside.

Harmony surprised it took you that long to find that on the EVGA forums ;)... Anyway if you would have read further down that thread on the EVGA forums you would have read it is a driver problem causing it, not VRAM ... not everything is VRAM related Harmony.. Use some common sense please, it is now getting silly and you are passing on bad information 99.99% of the time..

It clearly is running badly and clearly running slower then SLI 2 x GTX 580 1.5GB's.. The guy that runs that motherboard.org youtube site is a total joke too and has no idea 99.99% of the time what he's talking about and should have clearly realised it is a driver or game problem when used in QUAD SLI.

This is where he keeps taking his info from

http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1304515

and even there the EVGA users got tired of him and his VRAM problems for every fault.

Just went onto their configurator and 2 3GB 580s and the rest is $4000.

Whoever got that thing configured is a tool.

Even tri-sli is cheaper. Waste of money on 2 mars.

I did say 'If so' for the ram, like I said the specs werent mentioned other than 'SLI mars graphics cards'.

As for it being the 20th fastest PC in the world for 3D mark, I dont quite believe that there are only 19 tri and quad SLI / Xfire PCs in the world.

But i'm not saying i'm correct here because I havnt checked, but i'll take a look on the ORB now.

top 20 fastest pc's in the world for 3dmark.

Ok I looked but cant see it, please identify at which 20th spot that PC occupies:

Ok ok, if thats one of the top 20 PCs in the world, then give me 10k and I will make the number 1. Dont believe me? Give me 10k and find out :D

His extreme preset score on 3dmark11 would put him at n18 in the world. His score was x7422.

One thing he does say is the processor which is a 990x is running at stock and so are the gpu's so he could probably climb that list a good bit further.
