Hello Folks

Just rebuilt my PC Asus Maximus V Gene,Intel Core i7-3770K and Be Quiet's Dark Rock Pro cooler the problem is on boot till tells me I've got a CPU fan error which is running at 500'ish which is to slow should be 600 to avoid the error I can't access the bios via either delete key to disable it and I'am out of idea's any help gratefully received

Many Thanks B6K

Why cant you access the Bios?? Its teh F1 key you need to use if it haults on error like that. Then Fan monitoring and disable CPU fan top option.

Try reseting the bios, Then you should be able to enter it Via F1. You could also try a different keyboard. Or indeed make sure your keyboard is connected to a USB 2.0 slot on the rear panel.

What RAM??? Try one stick and see if that helps.

If necessary take out the bios battery to make it reset.

Vengeance what a surprise!!! I get this problem ie not entering Bios when I push my Trident X too hard on the cold but I have slow mode switch on formula and on extreme. Its a RAM problem in my eyes. Recent ASUS boards post after and including RIVE hate vengeance for some reason. I have seen so many posts about it on the ROG forums which I answer questions on.

Do you have any other RAM to try???? Sorry I know it seems weird but I think its the RAM. Did you have it clocked??

Sorry to sound partronisig but I am trying to help. Plug the keyboard into the port above the ROG connect one.

Not neccessarily. What cooler??? a bolt through one??? This is normally caused through bad contact with pins in socket due to board warping. Did you try one stick furthest socket from CPU to see if comes alive again.

I recon its warping the board. that looks very heavy and these Z77 boards are prone to warping. You have intel box cooler??? Try it

Wait on how about just sticking a faster fan on the CPU header and the CPU fan on CPU opt??? or one of the other headers on the board??? So long as over temp protect is enabled should the fan fail the CPU will be fine.

No problem. Yeah try it, It really is worth a shot and while you have the cooler off check for any bent pins in the socket.

Hey I just had a brain wave!!! should have thought of this all along. Boot the board with no drives at all attached. Nothing system can boot from at all USB drives or anything.

By default it enters bios!!! I just tried it on the formula here and it worked every time!!!

Try it!!!

Elo there

My Maximus V Gene died to last week after 3 months of no problems what so ever.
Error 55. Tried everything. DEAD

I would like to Point out how Good OCUK costumer service is!!!!
Board went out from me on Friday and i got replacement one last night. Maximus back in the game.
But i see it is common problem... Manufacturing fault ??
If this one dies i want my money back for Gigabyte Sniper ......
