I don't think there will ever be a good alternative to a poorly designed connector.

Should have made a decent product then really lol, the connector is total crap and dangerous but seemingly Nvidia doesnt care to change it. So content creators are itching to see if 3rd party products can mitigate the issue as still reports all the time about cables/cards melting.

The testing mythology in that video isn’t the best. I think this cable might actually help but as said, the problem is the connector design simply can’t handle the kind of currents these RTX cards demand.

My cablemod has been good so far but I run my 5090 @90% power and lock the fps to 120 on a 4k screen.

Maybe in the next video we’ll see some more meaningful testing.
