ASUS mobo returned, need a new mobo

So the vendor where I RMA'd the MSI tomahawk replied today saying that they can offer a replacement or a refund as the motherboard was faulty. I have asked for a refund...again.

So is there any hope of finding a stable x670e motherboard at that price point?

Are there any motherboards that you can buy with the most latest AGESEA bios update installed and working?

May be the above is very obvious and this is just pure frustration on my part.
Think it's hard to guarantee an updated bios from the box because manufacturers often take a long time to update their process/go through old stock. Some retailers offer flashing it as a service for a small fee when purchasing a board if you contact them. Not sure if Overclockers do, guess you'd have to contact them, some competitors mention it in their faqs though.

If you did want to try againw ith the tomahawk I'd probably follow the steps I mentioned on the previous post, use mbr boot partition (NOT gbt - ie you can't use windows normal easy format), fat32, smallish usb2 drive (if possible, but the mbr boot partition and fat 32 might be enough).

Thanks.

Is your recent experience with your mobo going fine with SoC voltages? I recall you were using the msi carbon?

Thanks.

I manually set my SoC down a bit further to 1.15v which has been perfectly fine, highest I've seen it go is 1.162v on MSI's sensors, otherwise it's locked to 1.15v on the SVI3 sensor. I did check what the latest bios (ComboPI 1.0.0.7a beta bios) set by default with EXPO and that seemed quite firm at around 1.3v like it should be.

I hope there were typos in there (or I misread it)...

I would have been tempted for a refund, but buy it again. If that makes a difference for a future refund if needed.
That board has been on my short list, of one, for a little while.

For other reasons tho I'm tempted just to go for an Intel build, I'm more familiar, might seem less hassle (?) and knowing my luck what I typically play would not be accelerated much by a 7800x3D.

Just an update.

I ended up going with the Asus rog strix x670e-A gaming in the end. I just could not find all the features I wanted in one board except this one at that price point. The system has been running smoothly for 2 weeks now and hopefully stays this way.

Memory is at expo speed of 6000 MT/s.

Did you update the bios?
