Asus MVG Sensor issues

I recently got an Asus Maximus V Gene, and it's all been running fine, except that I seem to be getting some odd sensor issues. Firstly, when I boot up I get a CPU fan error (it's basically not detecting the fan), but once it's been on for a few minutes it detects it.

Also, I'm not sure it's reading the temps correctly. It seems to be giving the readings I'd expect, i.e. it idles at around 30 - 35C, but I ran Prime95, which took it up to about 70C, then as soon as I stopped the test, the temps immediately dropped back down to about 35 - 40C. Surely that's not possible?

As I say though, there's no signs of instability. Is it worth flashing the BIOS?

Thanks

Those temps sound fine for Ivy Bridge. What software are you using to read the temps??? I would use only one prog at a time and that being either Core Temp or Real Temp.

What is telling you fan speeds???? If your using AuiSuite its not the best uninstall it. Its very unreliable.

The fan may be running too slow for detection. Make sure the fan is working fine and disable CPU fan monitoring in bios.

I've tried several different pieces of software for monitoring. They seem to vary a little bit, but I'm using RealTemp at the moment. Agreed that AI Suite isn't that great.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the fan is working ok, just that in the BIOS it says N/A against the fan speed when first booting. After a few mins it shows as about 600-700rpm, then around 1000rpm I think.

It's just one of those annoying little things I guess. :p Maybe I'll just turn off the warning then.

I would turn it off!!!

The sensors dont like if it goes below 800 even if its still spinning.
