Hi all,

I'm trying to restore an Asus N56 (windows 7 model) to its manufacturer settings. It has a 20GB recovery partition (as confirmed using EaseUS) but for some reason the recovery system won't recognise it as existing. I suspect the previous owner tinkered with the partitions and this has in some way caused the system not to be able to 'find' the recovery partition. Does anybody know a way to restore to factory settings without having to burn 6 DVDs (also, my largest flash drive is only 16GB, which seems to be too small).

Cheers in advance.

If you use speccy and Google windows 7 iso you can use the usb to make a new copy of W7, speccy will give you the key if it has worn off (under Operating System on left hand side) and all you need to do is download the iso and also download and install Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool, the iso are legit and l have been using them for a good few years. The only down side is you will have to download and install the Asus software you need as well as drivers etc.

Unfortunately I really need to be able to restore from the recovery partition. It's a function I told somebody would be working on this machine. The data is there, it's just the recovery system won't pick it up. I even have a single ISO for it, but nowhere to put the ISO because it's 20GB
