Hi all,

Wondering if someone can help. Been using this router with my VM superhub, it's been great however I've encountered a strange issue. I have a HP B110a wireless printer. Worked spot on with my Superhub in router mode, however since using it on this new ASUS router none of my apple devices see the printer on the network! It's 100% on there as my laptop finds it not problem and I can print from it fine. It's certainly not an issue with the printer as it worked fine on my superhub.

The other strange thing is my ASUS router shows the printer on the router settings and I can access the control panel on my printer via the router settings page!

I don't have a clue what could be stopping my apple devices seeing it? It's really frustrating and we use our iphones/ipad to print things often.

Any ideas/help from users with this router would be great. PS can I plug the printer in via usb to the router to try it that way? I don't have a USB cable to try so don't want to waste money if not. I would rather get the wireless sorted on apple devices!

Many thanks!

Same router here, different (but similar printer) HP B209-a

Had a bit of hassle setting it up, it would work on wifi for one day, then the next not (just 2 laptops here) then it worked via usb for a bit then not, I read setting a fixed wifi channel rather than auto mode fixes it, and it seems to have done the trick (this is by usb though)

I needed to move the router to be near the printer/NAS anyway, so connecting by usb is no problem for me. Have never had much luck with this HP, seems a bit finicky in its operation.

Couple of things to try:

Have you set the router to use N only or 5Ghz that the printer might not support?
Have you tried changing the channel? Noticed some older devices struggle with certain channels.

Also have a problem with using it via usb on the router (dif printer Samsung ML2165 Laser Printer). 1 laptop can see it but other can't both set up the same.

So maybe save your money buying usb lead for now. Looking for resolution, will post back if i find one.

Sorry for late reply. I've tried changing the channel and 5ghz etc. I'll try a USB lead for now.

Finally get it working with usb into router.

I connected the printer to router via usb
then switched on the printer
Then switched on laptop/pc
Put in the disc that came with the router
Install the printer software for the disc.
Windows installed the printer driver
Done

Hope this may be of some help to you.

Thanks. I'll grab USB cable on my days off and report back.
