ASUS or BENQ?

Took the Asus back, couldnt get over that glossy screen if I wanted a mirror I would have bought a mirror not a monitor and to be honest I dont see what all the fuss is about with it, its only very slightly smoother and the colours arent great compared to my three year old Samsung

You sure you set it to 120hz refresh rate? :p

But i though the same about the blue OCUK back ground seeming quite light when viewing the ocuk forums and it started to bug me.. But standard mode was ok once i lowered the brightness and contrast.
Gamemode however had way to much over saturated colours on default settings. But lowering the saturation setting to 40 to 45 fixes that

:D Of course

It was noticably smoother, hitting 90FPS in some parts of BC2 average of 70FPS and I could tell the difference it was super smooth and flicker free but not as good as its hyped up to be and the colours were terrible, take the trees for example, on my aging Samsung they are a nice dark green on the Asus they were this colour :p

The whites were so bright it hurt my eyes and turning down the brightness and contrast by 50% barely made a difference

I could have sorted all this by messing about with the settings but there was no way I was going to do that as I could get over the mirror screen

You have vsync off aswell? Average of 70fps is prob why it didnt fill as smooth. I always had above 90fps atleast on bc2 with vsync off.

Also if i remember right you have to go to (C:\Users\Username\Documents\BFBC2) Find the settings.ini file. Open it using notepad and set the RefreshRate= to 120 from 60

Yeah VSYNC was off or it would have capped at 60 it went higher than 70 that was the average FPS

To be honest I'm not fussed, there are no monitors out there that I want at the moment, after seeing the quality of the Asus fitting my old Samsung was like getting into your own bed after a two week holiday abroad, when I get another monitor it will be a Samsung with matte finish but there arent any at the moment that in my price range

The monitor has plenty of different mods if your not happy with the colours out of the box. I lowered my brightness and contrast, and if you want decent greens then run it in scenery mode. Mine is in theater mode for the deep blacks.

I'm debating getting this monitor or the LG 120Hz and only thing holding me back is whether i can get on with the gloss screen. Simkill can you post some pictures please, some ingame BC2, desktop and web pages would be great!

I do, the window is approx 4.5m behind me with white net curtains, then a small balcony room approx 2.5m across to more large windows. Room gets sun only in the morning and i will be using PC in evenings mostly so maybe i can get away with it...want to see some real life pics first tho.
