I realise that none of us have much information to go off of, but I am considering changing from Gigabyte Windforce RTX 2080 to another model. I've taken a closer look at the ASUS dual an notice it has a much larger heatsink an large dual fans. What is your opinion between the two in past generations? Opinion on the best model for the RTX 2080 overall including other AIB?

Also if you buy the Asus card from OcUK you get the benefit of a fast RMA turnaround (2 days I think). Worth it for that alone imo, I'm considering one! :)

Not sure if the Asus RMA service is still in place@OcUK mate, better off asking first, can remember a post someone complaining about it because they were sending it back to Asus-whether it was true or having a pop@OcUK idk but better to get some clarification.

It certainly is in place.

I don't think it is. There's been no mention of it in a long time and I've read several posts in the recent past suggesting that it's not. Like this one from July:

Going through the same process with OCUK as we speak, they sent a pre paid lable out for DPD pickup (Nice!) that was dropped off sameday @ pickup point.
DPD got the card to OCUK the following Monday - no idea how it took that long. Same day OCUK updated status to testing, then an hour later to sent to ASUS for repair/replacement - could take up to 28 days. If more than 28 days a refund will be offered by OCUK with a potential % taken off if the card is now cheaper to buy... think i have 21 days to go....... - OCUK wise - spot on though :)

Well then some are seemingly getting mugged off where others aren't, as I've sent two cards back in the last 3 months and both have had a quick turn around...

Squeakers don't pick up the phone these days.

Ordered the Asus version , however I was more skeptical about the Duals heatsink as from the investigating I could find the heatsink just looked like a block of milled Ali no heatpipes or anything... Or maybe I'm missing the point of the design or maybe I'm blind . why is it so much cheaper then other reputable brands and cheaper then even the blower AIB cards .

Yeah I've noticed that and am wondering as well. Have they used a similar vapor chamber design as nvidia without heatpipes? Would imagine if so they'd have promoted that. The card itself is priced not far behind the ROG Strix on ASUS's website. So it can't be all that bad? I haven't made a decision yet myself though on whether to switch from the Gigabyte version or not.

It was the same price on OCUK as the Asus model, but I guess it has sold most of the stock and the price has since increased. So ideally the same price. (Gigabyte Windforce 2080 vs Asus Dual 2080)

If the previous gen is anything to go by then the palit/gainward cards should be very good, although I see they've gone from being at the lower end cost wise to the middle now.
