Morning Guys
Wonder if you can help me
I have a Asus P5AD2 m/b , Last night the PC screen just froze , only been on about 10 mins , tried to restart but nothing happens
I cannot even get the board to post ,no beeps nothing , it is about 4 years old, I cannot even get to the bios screen, PC powers up, power to the board,I can see the lights on the board , all the fans and hard drives are working just nothing esle , dont know if it is the CPU, or motherboard or something esle
Choice 1
Remove board and PAY for testing at clockers wait about 1 week or more and see what happens wether its is the board or CPU then replace damaged part
Choice 2
Replace board and CPU easy fix, only really need PC for internet and old type strategy games , spend about £100

Thanks for any advice

I would say that it could be either the motherboard or chip, but have sometimes seen memory problems do similar things; some boards dont always behave as they should for giving beep codes. Check your memory first (it never hurts). If you say everything else is powering up your psu sounds ok.

Unless you've changed anything recent it would likly more then anything be the motherboard, and to be honest if its 4 years old it's probably eaiser and less hassle to replace the board.

guys bit more info

On powering up PC, sound alert and I hear " System failure, CPU overclocked" but it has never been overclocked, everything that is runs off the board powers up
Beginning to think the CPU has died , is this the normal system operation when a CPU dies .
Just thinking to getting a new CPU and then see what happens , I am pretty sure the m/b is ok
Really stuck here guys

Cheers
