This gives me 2.8Ghz, i was able to boot into vista didnt run any stability tests but i have a hunch that it would be stable. the temps were core1:40C and core 2 41C.

I tried FSB 440 after that with x6 multi, it booted into vista for 5 seconds and i was happy since cpu-z showed 3.09GHz but then BSOD and auto restart of pc :(.

What should i do to take it past 3Ghz and be stable. i have seen people with 3.5Ghz stable with the same setup as mine. Unfortunately they dont state the values they used.

tried changing ram cycle clocks, slacker timings should work but they didnt. no post with 5-5-5-15-6-42.

im pretty sure im doing something wrong somewhere

temps spiking over 50 with fsb 398, returned to stock vcore, ram running at 2.1. going to run 3dmark06 to see stability and performance.

core 1 temp=56C
Core 2 temp= 53C

Are these normal?

im running arctic pro freezer 7 and also taking into account high temps inside the room.

ran 3dmark06 at 430x7. strangely the score came out to be 2360, lower than at 398FSB, the online results stated that im using some other drivers which are not official hence the low score? Dont know what that means.

Anyway moving on to 440x7

test failed after 6 minutes, harware malfunction, im gonna run more tests though. Have tried to to slacken the ram timings but 5-5-5-15-2-45 dont work.
re-installed the cooler and applied a bit more arctic silver. too early to say whether the temperature has been lowered or not but idle at 48C now and occasional rise to 53 when a programme is running.
