anyone running 4gig of ram with this mobo? im having trouble finding any 2gig sticks compatable in the Qvl?.

You should find that most 800Mhz RAM will be ok. I dont really take much notice of the QVL list

from what i have read the P5B-E can be a bit selective,so i thought if someone is running 2x2 gig in the same board.if i follow suit i cant go wrong.

If it was me id go for some kingston or corsair stuff.

i just want to be sure it will run in my board,dont want to buy any only to find it dont run.and then have the hastle of sending it back. :confused:

If this is anything like my P5B Deluxe then 2x2GB will not work properly as 2GB sticks need a TRFC setting of around 53 onwards but the P5B Deluxe only goes to 42 in the BIOS making the system unstable even at stock speeds (and thus overclocking a complete impossibility). 1GB sticks only need a TRFC of 25-35 so are compatible

I've had to go with 4x1GB instead, which is a bit disappointing as I am at the boards limit now and can not upgrade the ram further

would be great to know if anyone is running them? and if they are ok ? :confused:

They'll work but as soon as you overclock or enter the timings manually in the BIOS then you'll be screwed.
