Upgraded to core 2 and P5k recently. Very pleased with combo.and no problems as such.

But noticed that when I switch on instead of starting up (power, fans boot etc) it starts for a split second (power +fans) but then powers off for say 2/3 seconds before starting properly.

Is this normal ?

Or does it indicate a problem with the board ?

Advise appreciated.

p.s. when re-starting no such pausing

Yeah, my old P5K Deluxe used to do that as well. My Gigabyte X38-DS4 does it as well, as did the DFI X48 board I had in there last week.

not in all cases i have a p5k and it did that after 23 days we sent it back to OC who found not fault and sent it back to me, and 6 days later it did the same so we sent it back again it just will not post but the fans come on and stay on .

any ideas ?

same thing happened to my mobo it never to begin with then it seemed to start, turn off start up again.
then it went away but then has now came back the only thing i can think off is that i changed my ram settings in bios from 800 to 1066 and i think it has something to do with that,i might be way out but worth a call if you been playing around with your bios.

not played around in bios standard settings i bought this bundle.
Intel Core 2 Quad LGA775 Q6600 2.40GHz Retail / Asus P5K / 2GB Corsair PC2-6400C4 DDR2 Dual Channel Kit

but i have RMA'D the board should get a new one tomorrow
