Asus P5K-E Wifi or P5Q?

I am currently considering a new motherboard. My current motherboard is an Asus P5K-E with built in Wifi and it has been an excellent board.

The one that I am considering (due to budget) it the Asus P5Q which doesn't have Wifi but I can get a Wifi-N card quite cheaply.

Which board is the better board? Is the P45 chipset any better than the P35?

Thanks

P45 has 2 8x pci-e 2.0 lanes when running in crossfire compared to the P35's 16x and 4x pci-e 1.1 lanes. It "may" be a better clocker but if you are running at stock, which appears to be the case by your siggy, then it's pointless changing for just for changing sake.

My sig is out of date...I am currently running my E6600 at 3.2GHz

Would use the P5Q assumming its a -E version or higher.. they are excellent boards.. although I did love my old P5K-E Wifi :)

The P5Q isn't the E version, it's this one

As far as I could see, the only differences were that the P5Q has a PS2 Keyboard connector and doesn't support crossfire

I'd pay £11 more and get the P5Q-Pro, it is essentially the P5K-E except with a newer chipset and propper crossfire. Even the cooling solution is the same.

Thanks for the comments, however I've already purchased the P5Q. I just need to know whether the P5Q would be better than my P5K-E Premium. Thanks

They will both perform much the same with current gen CPUs at stock (and will support and recognise the same CPUs with BIOS updates) but the feature set on P45 would place it in my primary rig. Stuff like PCI-E 2.0 and more lanes doesn't matter with single cards but you might as well have it as not.
