I posted this in the GH forum but realised it should be here, hopefuly a mod will kindly remove the GH post and forgive me for my spamming!

hi there

i've got an asus p5k-e wifi, when i first booted the machine and checked the cpu temp it was about 17c idle which did seem very cold but my last machine had a rather hot amd with stock cooling so I didnt really know what to expect from a new dual core E2200. Ive upgraded to the latest beta bios and the cpu is now reported as idle at 34c - so now I dont know what temp the cpu is as I dont trust the bios! I plan to overclock but am eager to get stock cooling as low as possible before I begin, I have an AC Freezer 7 Pro on the E2200 using the TIM that came on the cooler (I forgot to order artic silver), does anyone have this bios on this board and know of any issues with cpu temp reporting? The motherboard temp was identical on both the old and the new bios btw, and I didnt move the case whatsoever inbetween the bios flashing.

thanks jak731, coretemp gives significantly lower temps:

Coretemp
Core #0 35c
Core #1 37c

Asus PC Probe II (seems to report same as hardware monitor in bios)
CPU 46c

This was while running superPI, also, speedfan is giving core temps a few degrees higher than coretemp, which readings should I put most faith in?

Also, speedfan reports an AUX temperature as 119c ! Is this a bad sensor? Does anyone know what the AUX sensor may be connected to?
