Hiya guys

I've got a self built PC with :
Asus p5k premium mobo
2x 2gb Geil 6400 ram
Wolfdale E8400 cpu

All been running stable with a slight overclock on the CPU for 3+ years.
Just bought 2x 2gb corsair XMS2 6400 ram.
I slotted them into the 2nd and 3rd ram slots, and the PC booted fine for the night.
When I tried it again today, it wouldnt even boot to the bios.

Taking the new ram out, and the pc boots fine.
If I put one of the sticks in slot 2, it boots fine.
Put the 4th stick in slot 4, and no boot.
If I also put the 4th stick that I think is duff in slot 2, with the old ram in 1 and 4, it doesnt boot.

So i'm thinking, a duff stick of ram!
I've requested an RMA from the shop I bought it, so that should be good.

The overclock that I had now wont boot though!
Its been so long since I have done an overclock, I cant remember the settings, so i've had to reset to the stock settings.

Has anyone else had this scenario before?

is it deffo busted ram? or has my overclock stopped it from working with 4 sticks?

from what you have said I would have said that it was a stick of Faulty RAM, you will soon
know when you get a replacement stick of RAM but I would put my money on it being that.

Certainly looks like dodge ram, run memtest on that 1 stick to confirm. Also run it on the other three.
