hi all i got a asus p5k + q6600 + 2gig crosiar ram
upon buildin my new pc i got everything installd fine and working ok
the problem is that if i install the JMicron. drivers from the asus cd i got i get a sound stutter / mouse/keybored lag

now if i uninstall it to defult microsoft drivers the system can take up to 90/120 seconds to boot and the copying of files takes a bit longer
i have tried all the latest bios's that i could find and done some reading on this

system specs are
q6600 @ 2.4 + ac7
crosiar 2x 1gig sticks
8600 gt silent
1ide dvd burner
1ide hdd
2x sata hdd's
580w hiper psu

any help would go down great

Had the same issues with a new build i completed for a friend , the only way i sorted or it seemed to sort it self out was when i installed a new AUZEN XF-I sound card all lag and stuttering stopped.
I searched every were to sort the problem with no success thinking in the end it was a dodgy mobo , even putting a new generic 5.1 card never cured it. Does it sound like MAX HEADROOM when your listening to music/dvd etc ?:D

sounds like you got the same issues , everything clean install trying different codecs turning onboard sound off even stripping the pc and reseating the mobo , nothing worked bar putting the auzen card in , and has i said before i spent hours searching google and countless forums with no luck.
As a last resort try the ASUS forums but be prepared to spend a long time looking because the web site is sooooo slow. Good luck

I missed that link bobbyboy as well as installing the new sound card i also got rid of his IDE drive and installed a sata drive so thats proberly what sorted the stuttering  its nice to know either way thanks
