Just got this one today and has anyone else had any issues with this board and the crucial ballistix pc8500 ie not posting.

i no the asus boards can be a bit funny with memory but i have searched but cant seem to find any issues.

anyone able to shed any light on this. possibly

Using the P5K-E with Ballistix Tracer PC6400, no problems at all.

The SPD timings seem to be set nice and relaxed on all the crucial memory I have used so I can't see there being a problem with that.

Have you got the sticks installed correctly? Is the motherboard giving off any beeps?

tried both sticks one stikc in all slots etc etc.... but the wierd thing is that if i leave out all the memory it dont bleep. but i have put in one stick of pc6400 geil black dragon in there it boots up fine and if i put the memory in another pc its fine.

its a werid one

You're going to have to boot up with the geil, then set memory timings and voltages manually. especially the voltages, I think your ram is designed to have 2.2v shoved up it but the mobo gives 1.8v standard, and the ballistix don't like low volts.

once set manually save exit, turn off re-install ballistix, boot up and it should be ok.
