Asus P5KC and crossfire

Ive noticed that the Asus P5KC supports crossfire and in the end I want to go with nvidia, but not SLI, does that matter? Like is this board designed for ATI?
Also is there a better board for around the same price?

It will run a single nVidia card without any problems at all.

Wasn't it possible to get bodged bios for older motherboards to switch between crossfire and sli. But i dunno how well they worked and i dont think there is any for P35 yet.

i dont want sli, or crossfire, i was just worried that it might have been designed to work better with ATI cards (which I might be starting off with)

Nope no benefits of running an ATi card in it.
