Just assembled new system;

Asus P5KC [0804 BIOS]
E2160 Dual-Core
OCZ XTC Platinum Rev.2 PC6400 [4-4-4-15]

When monitoring the system at defaults using CPU-Z, Everest, or the ASUS AI utility, the multiplier flits between 6 and 9 with the core speed going between 1200 and 1600MHz. When this happens in Everest the Vcore is 1.325 and drops to 1.188.

Is this a measuring error, a setting, or a fault? :confused:

Or don't bother unless you're overclocking. It saves your electric bill & carbon consumtion. If you overclock it may cause a problem & might be worth switching off, but it's worth trying it anyway. If you're running at stock, consider it essential.

dont worry about it, run all my clocks with it on and never had an issue.. nor does it effect performance... Superpi with it on or off shows no difference

Upgrade all done, haven't had time to reinstall windows.

So I uninstalled all my old motherboard / AMD drivers etc and rebooted to get the WGA nag about windows requiring activation within 3 days. Shutdown, installed all my new components, reboot to find the nag now says I have to activate windows to login, which was a nightmare as none of the drivers were installed, meaning the USB keyboard / mouse and network wouldn't work. Luckily I managed to dig out an old PS2 keyboard, and did the activation using the freephone number, at least it would have been free, except my house phone wasn't charged and died, so I had to do it from my mobile.

Anyway, running sweet, haven't had chance to really get going, but it is @ 2.4GHz and run Orthos for 24 hours without errors. CPU sits at 25C no load, and gets to about 40C under load..... CPU cooler is at about 1/4 speed.
