Hi All

Tonight I updated my BIOS to try and fix an (apparently) unrelated issue and now my machine will not boot with both sticks of RAM installed :(

Specifics:
Geil PC5300 4-4-4-12
Asus P5N-E SLI

I tried reverting from 0803 to the previous BIOS version 0608 but the utility won't let me do that. I've also tried manually setting the timings.

Any ideas why it won't boot with two sticks?

Try the other mem slots, also since you have updated your bios its worth checking the settings, did you save your settings before the flash then reload them.
As you say it wont boot with both stick i assume its ok with a single stick. What exacly happens when you press the on button.

What O/S you running???

I'm running Vista 64 and I had exactly the same issue with my new Striker II Extreme board earlier this week.

After a long search of the internet I downloaded an update from microsoft (KB929777) - worked a charm. This update was specifically for 64 bit mind, there maybe another one for 32 bit

Hope you get sorted
